Meow Xmas Holiday Swatch links

NOT 100%.  I haven't bought anything from this year yet (I want that new Snowflake!!) so I'm still waiting to place my order.  I have Misfits and Ice Blossoms and the Auroras to swatch still but if you want to see the older stuff, click away!

12 Pains of Christmas
Santa Baby
Reindeer
Sugarplums
Christmas Trees
Holiday Wishes
Christmas Rant
Merry Mayhem
Ghosts of Christmas Past

I can't believe I haven't even done Glacial Grove yet.  That one is super sparkly and wintery.

I probably won't do Winter Spirits ever.  I don't really like the colour palette and I think I'm too warm toned for most of those.

This post needs something Christmassy.

Here's my Christmas tree

So awesome I forgot to post

I was so happy with this look I seem to have posted it everywhere EXCEPT the blog.  Go me.

I did this awhile back and almost trashed the pic on my desktop but realized I forgot to write what I used on my flickr pic so I went through my blog posts to check it out and WHOOPS not there.

Better late than never.  I LOVED THIS SO HARD.  I usually post my EOTD's or swatches in a makeup Facebook group whenever I'm too lazy to do a post, so if you are in here, you'd already have seen it.  Go here.  If you'd like to explore more indie companies or see pretty faces, or keep an eye on indie sales, that's the place to be.  Especially if you want to go extra broke with all the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale madness!  I ended up buying Sugarpill, more Shiro, some Coastal Scents hotpots, MUA Makeup Academy, Cocoa Pink, some Scaredy Cat (1st time trying!).  Seeing it all typed out like that I AM AFRAID FOR MY WALLET!  Innocent + Twisted Alchemy is releasing a Battle Royale themed collection that I need, so basically this whole paycheque is gone hahaha.

AAAAAANYWAYS Back to my look!

I did this super early on a Saturday Morning and still had 2 hrs before the mall even opened so lots and lots of time to play around.

I used:

TFSI Lemon Drop
Lid: Meow Cosmetics Eris
Crease: Detrivore Memento Mori
Above crease blended and lower liner: Sugarpill Buttercupcake
Inner corner: Shiro Moon Prism Power
Browbone was from a company no longer in business
Liner: Physician's formula
Lower liner: MAC Black Line Pearlglide instense with Buttercupcake smeared on top.

heh  smeeeaared

LOTS OF PICTURES CUZ I LUVZ IT

"I don't know. It's snowing out. Do something cold looking."

I really should know by now not to ask the dude for what colours to pick out.  Most of the time he says random stuff like "red, yellow, brown, green..." and he'll just go on until he's listed them all.  This time he said something "cold looking."

I didn't want to go out for dinner looking like a frost queen but when he mentioned snow I remembered I had a whole bunch of Meow's Snowflake shades from past winters!  I dug around and picked out a few and this is what I came up with.

TFSI Lemon Drop
Lid: Freezing Rain
Crease: Avalanche
Inner corner: Snowball
Browbone: Aromaleigh Miuccia (nude with a nice blue sheen to it)
Lower liner: MAC Petrol Blue smudged with Darling Girl's Totally Teal on top
Inner lower liner: UD Midnight Cowboy 24/7 liner with Shiro's Moon Prism Power patted on top.
Upper liner: UD Perversion liquid liner
Gold under the liner: Make Up For Ever Aqua Liner Diamond Gold 01

I took a bunch of pictures but I think this one turned out more clear than the others.  NEED MOAR DAYLIIIIIGHT!

Curls! Sponge Rollers

Adventuring around Googleland for curls I've seen all sorts of nifty ways people can curl hair.  I'd like to try out a whole bunch of these but for now I'll have to use what I do have.  So for this weekend it was my handy dandy Goody Sponge Rollers!

When I first used these it didn't turn out so well.  Since they are sponge, it was pretty easy to be tempted to pull on the roller when rolling it in my hair.  If you pull too tight you will get small angry curls.  AAANNGGRRRRYYYY.

Angry to me anyways.

This time I was a bit more careful and tried to wind them up with just enough pulling to keep the ends in place.

These were also put into clean, dry hair.  I wasn't planning on curling my hair but I was watching Raising Hope and noticed all the females had curly hair and I wanted some too!

Here's my hair freshly dyed (Garnier Intense Light Red 660)

All sponged up.  I wasn't sure what size goes where so I used the biggest size on top until I ran out and mediums in the middle and so on...and slept in them.

And all pulled out 16ish hrs later. I didn't pull them out until I wanted to leave the apartment so they were in there for a freakin long time.  I carefully unwinded them and took a comb and combed down the spirals in the direction of the curl.  Then tried to separate each curl into 2 and winded them to keep the curls defined.  When it was all done I hair sprayed the heck out of it.

Next time I will have to try to put some product in my hair beforehand like a handmade sea salt spray.  My hair does not hold curl well and after a few hours that bouncy curl you can kind of see in the front of my head, worked its way down my face in no time :(

Here was try number 1 a bit ago.  I ended up throwing a clip in to hold most of the back and left the front bit all crazy.  I hated it.

I've decided small curls are not my friend.

As of right now, I prefer the curlformer/magic leverag curls more (better uniformity) but process wise the sponge rollers were way better.  Sleeping in them wasn't noisy and they didn't really hurt my head.  Curlformers/Magic Leverag for me are something you'd have to do first thing in the morning, to be ready for night.  They are not sleep friendly.

Meow Cosmetics Dance of Death Swatches

Okie dokie smokies, these eyeshadows were bought 2 years ago I believe and should still look the same, but there may be slight differences.  I only say this because I bought a backup of Spellbinding last year and the multi coloured sparkle was leaning more towards red/pink.  The swatch of Spellbinding in this post is the more multi coloured one.

If sparkle makes you drool you will want to check out Meow's Dance of Death Halloween collection.  Almost all of these have sparkles and the ones that don't still have a really pretty shimmer.  Dance of Death is also home to one of my most favourite eyeliners ever, Coffin! Coffin looks AMAZING in blue eyeshadow looks.    It also has two multipurpose "Haunted Veils" Poltergeist and Spectre.  The veils come in the regular 5 gram jars (just incase you had ordered Radiation from the Alien Abduction collection and expected another 10 gram jar like moi :D ) which now makes sense to me because they named them veils and not glow powders like Morpho, Present, Xmas List, Misery, or Immortal(FYI: most of those not available at the moment, except for the last 2)  I loves those glow powders.

MOVING ON

All these were swatched over TFSI

As with all my posts, click the pictures to make them bigger! BIGGAH IS BETTAH :)

NOTD ~ Velvet Bow Dipped in Gold

2 days in a row doing my nails!

I've started wearing gloves at work in the hopes that it will help the skin around my nails stop being so haggard looking.  The other problem is that the gloves dry out my hands, even with a lot of hand cream.  On the plus side I'm not snagging my cuticles on boxes!  My last little manicure lasted 2 days with the gloves instead of 5 minutes, so I'm going to stick with them for awhile.  Maybe I'll notice a difference in another week or 2.  Untill then I plan on lots of painting!

Here's what I did today.

China Glaze Velvet bow
OPI Goldeneye (James Bond 007 Skyfall collection!) on the ends
I couldn't find my french tip guides so I used my roll of green painters tape instead.

It left slight film on top but it disappeared once I put a coat of Revlon Qucik Dry Top Coat.

It looks cool from far away.  Goldeneye is such a bright shimmery gold and not super gritty.

I was going for something Autumn-like but ended up with Christmas.  Whoops!

OPI Bond... James Bond Magnetized nail polish swatch

BEFORE YOU LAUGH TIL YOUR EYES WATER:  I've never played with magnet nail polish, so I don't really know the trick to it.

Magents.

How do they work?

Anyways, I was at the hair place waiting for the dudeman to get his hair cut and I saw they had the new OPI 007 Skyfall nail polish collection.

I most wanted Man With the Golden Gun (GOLD FLAKES!) but dudeman convinced me Goldeneye was prettier AND cheaper and then I saw the magnetized shades.  I ended up grabbing Goldeneye, Is That Silva? and this one, Bond... James Bond.  The magnetized ones were about $18 each and came with a magnet.  How many times can I say magnet in a post.

Holy crap is it ever hard to find a swatch of it.  And the magnet didn't seem to want to make nice even diamonds like the picture.  So this sad lil post will have to do until I figure out how to magnet right...

(That one is my other hand using the magnet that came with the Is That Silva? polish)

If you wear just the polish itself, it's kind of boring.  The magnet pulls the silver from the gold and darkens it to a super pretty gold.  I may have to hunt down different magnets just to pull the silver away better.
