More Kaleidoscopy awesomeness

I didn't go anywhere today and felt the need to post SOMETHING.

What better than more kaleidoscope pictures?!?

Michelle, owner of blog Ramblings of Purple M (I can't quite figure out how to link anything) was super kind to send me a picture of Aromaleigh shadows she fixed up to be just the shadows (I'm really lousy at explaining things lol) But it was FANTASTIC!

So I played around and this is what I came up with so far:

And here's one I did with my b&w perfume bottle pic!

And here's me just screwing with the program to look all plastic:

Happy New Years and all that jazz :D

Rainbow-y goodness!

What do you do when you borrow your moms photoshop, on vacation, and have nothing to do?
You photoshop the hell out of everything! I found a cool Kaleidoscope feature on this Corel photoshop and thought it would be pretty kick ass to kaleidoscope colourful pictures. And what's more colourful than eyeshadow swatches from Meow and Aromaleigh?

NADA!

Here's the extent of my boredom. And now my new desktop backgrounds running on a loop (thanks windows 7!!)

Please nobody steal my boredom and take credit for them. I will call on the karma gods to beat you to a pulp. And with that, enjoy! :D

Christmas/general vacation goodies!

My EOTD's have sucked bawls lately so I'll do a "schtuff I gots for xmas" post and "Other goodies I've snagged" as well.

And see what a happy cat looks like at the end.

For Christmas this year (Christmas gets capitalized right? Do we capitalize Labour Day and such too? I don't know) I got a lot of stuff I really wanted but was too lame to buy myself. I should scrapbook this too. I have so much Christmas paper and no pictures printed to finish them off.

My Mom and Dad got me:

The Legendary Starfy for Nintendo DS. Haven't played yet though, I left my DS at home :(
The Tudors S03. More Jonathan Rhys Meyers!
Corpse Bride ornaments. I almost bought these many times.
Kings & Queens mini shower gels. Nefertiti Honey and Carmilla Cinnamon Orange are the best from the set. Travel size however, the lids do leak. Last time I had these in my carry-on (my first set, not this one) and the orange one spilled all over the inside. Good thing these are in a zip bag!

From my doode:
Conair hair dryer with diffuser (I've been wanting a difuser for SO LONG, and this is exactly the one I was looking for. It has a rim around it to keep my hair in, not just the finger-y bits)
The Sims 3 Collectors Edition with 2GB memory stick! YES! I see everything in grid form now. And think of ways to change my clothing into different patterns and colours. Thanks Sim generator.
1TB Hard drive for macbook for my *cough* borrowed *cough* movies/music/shows and pics. It's for a macbook because my PC crapped out on me and I was using my guys computer instead. (We live together so it's not hassle-y)
Wallace and Gromit A Matter of Loaf and Death movie (loved Curse of the Ware Rabbit!)
Blood Lite book. A bunch of short stories with the supernatural theme.
Another chunk of Lush Coal Face. I think I'm set for the year now :)

From older Bro:
Lush 12 Days of Christmas giftset. This smelled SO FANTASTIC before I even cracked it open. It had a mix of their xmas stuff in it. The only ones I had already was the Candy Cane bubble bar and the Christmas Eve bubbly bar. On boxing day I grabbed more Cinders bath bombs (the best bomb I've smelled yet) and the matching perfume (along with the candy fluff perfume, can't say no to that ever)
Picture yoinked from Lush. Inside the box has like 300 packing foamies in it and is too hard to repack twice in one week.

From lil bro:
Mac Do-the-Trick Buff and Line brush set. It had mini brushes 168SE, 187SE, 209SE, 219SE and 252SE. I've been wanting a skunk brush for so long and with the rest of the brushes, this set looked like it was the one I'd get the most use out of.
The Bay beauty VIP cards. $10 off $50 once a month for a year on cosmetics and fragrances. I don't like that they start with December. Most people will get these as xmas gifts leaving them with less than a week to use one! I'm too broke to use it this month anyway :)

And for the RANDOM STUFF MINDY HAD TO BUY SECTION!:
HP laptop to play my new Sims game. Okay so this was a little excessive. My PC died and I can't stand the macbook (but am missing the auto spell check right now) and I was at Best Buy. I was going to get a new computer eventually, just didn't know I'd get it the day after Christmas.
This lil guy was $120 off and wasn't that pricey to begin with so I had to get it!
I've already lost many hours to the Sims this week.
EXCELLENT purchase :D

And I was at Winners again and saw an Ecotools brush set for $19. YOINK. The eyeshadow brush in the set is AWESOME. It holds the shadow and it doesn't get lost in the bristles because they are so packed together. The blush brush is nice too. I'll use it for my cheek highlighters. Eyeliner brush good too. My other one is thisclose to being useless now. Pic has new MAC brushes in it as well. I'm not used to having this many!

AND, other than copious amounts of sale holiday chocolate, I went back to the store to grab some Milani glosses. I didn't have to pay the extra 7% PST being in Alberta so I had to get them. Yup. Just HAD to.
A little disappointed that I couldn't really see a colour difference on my lips. I may have to see in other light when I get home and can play around.

I apologize now for spelling errors. I was good at not making them in school, but chat has FUCKED that up royally. And I don't have that handy dandy auto spell check however, that got annoying whenever I spelled "colour" and "eyeshadow".

And now, for the promised happy kitteh face

My Rushed Christmas Day Eotd

Bah! I felt super rushed to get all makeup-a-tized and actually took longer but you can't really tell. I only have 1 good shot (being rushed I wasn't able to snap many pictures finding a good one)

Dammit

Anyways, I used all Stardust Cosmetics. If I say any of the colours wrong, it's because I stuck them back in the train case before properly remembering them :(

Main lid: Candlit Kisses
Inner Corner: Ribbons & Bows
Crease: Caroller's Breath
On top crease: Fall's Farewell for sparkle
Colour just below highlight: Toast at Midnight
Highlight: Cashmere Mittens
Lower lash line: Holiday Delight
Eyeliner is Urban Decay Zero

Blush was Melt the Snow with Winter's Kiss on top.

Being rushed I messed up a bunch and had to go over places with different colours to try to fix it and ended up taking way longer than normal. I should have planned it the day before.

Lesson learned!

I included a picture of the scaredy cat, hiding from all the xmas chaos.

Not So Silent Tinsel!

I wasn't going to leave the house today but one of the things my boyfriend loves doing on Christmas Eve is go to a mall and see the chaotic atmosphere of the unfinished shoppers.

I saw a guy at the electronics till point to a poster on the other side of the till and ask the cashier, "so uhhhh (as he's tapping the poster) how much is this?" and she asks, "The Wii?" (she can't actually see the poster) and he's still knocking the poster as he nods (never once making eye contact the ENTIRE time) and she says "$209.99" (I think, can't completely remember, this guy seemed douchey) and he's still tapping it going "uhhhhhhh.......I'll get one" and then he backs up still never looking at her. Then she says "I'm sorry we're sold out."

Part of me felt bad, but at the same time, did ya really think you were going to find a discounted Wii A DAY BEFORE CHRISTMAS?!?! Plus he was rude to the cashier who probably wasn't having a very good week anyways and he's just adding to it.

Moral of the story? Um. Not quite sure what I was getting at. hah! Brain is fried. Just wanted to share I guess :D

Be nice to cashiers at Christmas time, they don't want to be there anymore than you do.

There we go!
Moral entered!

And for my lil ol EOTD.

I was eating those Bacci chocolates (in the silver and blue wrappers) and I wanted to do a silver and blue look.

I pulled out my Aromaleigh Holiday Blast and used:

Lid: Tangled Tinsel
Crease: Not So Silent Night
Highlight: Champagne Toast.
Bottom line: Not So Silent Night as well

It was hard to get a good eye shot, I'm not used to the lighting here and the shinyness of the eyeshadows seemed to affect the camera as well.

Oh wellz.

Hopefully someone like it! :D Ignore the crappy hair, someone was in the bathroom where my brush was and RUINED MY DAMN LIFE!!! J/K And on that note...

Merry Christmas everybodeh!!!!!

Luna Twilight "Rosalie" Palette...

...is utter crap. The blush is good. That's about it.

Review done.

HAH! Can't leave it unfinished!

Apparently these are made by DuWop. I saw these in the store a month ago and thought the Rosalie palette looked like the only palette I'd try. I don't give a crap for the "Twilight" theme. I didn't like the books, never watched the movies, really don't care, but that blush pulled me in.

Descriptions yoinked from Twilight Beauty site (didn't know such a site existed until yesterday):

The crowning jewels of the Luna Twilight collection are found in these four kits, reflecting the mood and spirit of the iconic female characters from the Twilight saga, bringing together a harmonious collection for lips, cheeks and eyes.

Four palettes available:

Bella – Soft and Subtle with nude shadows, warm nude blush, nude lipstick and the sheerest cherry red gloss. (MY WORDS, BORING)

Victoria – Bold and Fiery with shimmering jewel-toned shadows and deep wine colored lipstick and gloss. (MY WORDS, meh nothing new, doesn't mention what the blush is supposed to be)

Rosalie – Regal and Refined with peach toned shadows, a coral blush and apricot lipsticks and gloss. (MY WORDS, oOooo pretty!)

Alice – Eclectic and Spunky with shimmering blue and silver shadows, rosy blush and sheer hot pink lips. (MY WORDS, ass uglay, my blues and silvers kick this ones ass)

So as I said I bought Rosalie. It's a tiny palette, almost credit card sized. Eyeshadows are .95 grams, lip gloss .72 grams and blush is 3.89 grams. I like that I can shove it anywhere. Problem with being so small? I've already dropped the damn thing before I got to use it. Didn't see it.

The eyeshadows turned out being more frosty than I'd like. They would be better used just as hilighters. This palette would have been much better if they didn't include the glosses and added a crease colour and eyeliner colour. The glosses were useless for colour payoff. Why even bother making them 2 different shades? YOU CAN'T TELL!

The blush was beautiful. But not worth $30. I could have gotten Nars Orgasm for $8 less OR Avon Mark Afterglo blush for $7. All 3 the same shade. If only I thought of that FIRST.

Oh well, now I can openly say this product sucks because I know FO SHO.

Here are my crappy EOTD's. I used one of my new Bourgois eyeliners to add colour because without them I looked like a GODDAMN ALIEN WITH H1N1!

Lip gloss was covered with Avon Golden Glow because I couldn't see the other crap anyways.

Way to wash me out DuWop.

I will NOT buy again.
Not worth the price.
Don't recommend, get the Mark afterglo blush for 5.2g for $7 if you want pretty coral.
I give it a 1.5 out of 5. 1 for tiny size, .5 for blush even though I can get cheaper.

fail.
