Teal and Purple EOTD

Coastal Scents recently had a 50% off sale on some of their palettes and since I didn't own any, I bought all 3 that were on sale.  Can't go wrong for 10 bucks-ish! When I first go into makeup and watched a lot of youtube videos it seemed everyone had an 88 pallette.  So many colours, I don't know why it took me so long to finally grab one.

And now I have 3!  Yay!

I bought the Original, Ultra Shimmer and Warm palettes.

With this look I used the Shimmer palette and a nude from the Warm one.

Lower liner is UD Rockstar.  It ended up matching the purple exactly!  I didn't even know the crease shade was a purple when I picked it out, I thought it was brown.  My living room was dark, but I'm happy with the accident!

First blob do-hickey was the inner lid and part of inner crease
Second do-hickey was main lid colour
Third do-hickey was the crease

Storm Cloud Rainbow

Hullo!

One look I can never pull off is a black smokey eye.  I just look like I got hit in the face and black is uber hard to work with when you don't know what the crap you're doing.  Like me!

Well Mandy from Pretty Making always does these fantastic smokey eyes so I pulled out my traincase to practise a little bit.  I think part of my problem is not using enough shades, plus the tricky part of knowing where on the lid all the black goes.  I did mine slightly wrong. I went too high up for the inner half of my lid, so head on it looks like my outer lid droops and looks SO DUMB.  I'd show you but it's too sad to look at and once on internetland, ALWAYS ON INTERNETLAND.

So we'll pretend all is well.

Straight up flat black is booooring so I decided to get some inspiration from another wicked blogger, Ronnie from Bows & Curtseys, and her Radiant Rainbow liner look. BUT WITH GLITTAH!
Because who the hell doesn't love glitter?

Grumpy people and bosses, that's who.

I just used some primer, Sugarpill's Bulletproof, Burberry Trench for my browbone, and some random dark brown in the Coastal Scents Warm palette to blend Bulletproof into Trench.  Glitter was a mix of discontinued Aromaleigh and Lime Crime stuff I bought ages ago, pressed on top of Urban Decay Zero.  I was going to attempt Pixie Epoxy for the glue-action but it's so hard to see when it's clear on top of black!

BAH You can see where I went too thick on the Zero and then kind of botched the green/blue/purple glitter part.  :( 9:30pm dark living room lighting is sucky.

Oh well, it was just random makeup playtime before bed.

Which is where I'm heading.
NIGHT!

TFSI Lemon Drop
Lid: Paraskevidekatriaphobia
Crease: 13
Browbone: Prophecy
Lower liner: UD Bourbon and Midnight Cowboy eyeliners with 13 and Prophecy patted on top

MAC MSF Light Year and Star Wonder

This isn't a swatch post yet mostly because it's night time.  It's more of a "what does your Light Year look like?" post.  When I picked up my Light Year I thought I got skimped on the gold veining.  I should have asked to see the others before buying but I was just too damn happy to get my hands on one, I didn't care.  Maybe if it's not sold out at the mall I'll head back to check out the others.

Anyways, looking around I see I got kind of lucky.  Some people got waaaaay less swirls and gold so I guess I'll live.  I do have that big spot right in the middle.  It's all that peach at the far left and top that irk me.  Star Wonder looks good though.  Nice ratio of all 3 colours I think.  Not a super mega swirl like Temptalia's but I think it'll mix the same.

Here are my 2 new babies.

L-R: Light Year, Star Wonder

So far I've seen one that looks like the number 9 and the most perfect freakin mix ever halfway down the page here.  Trust me, you'll know it when you see it.  Why can't they all look that magical!  Like a cute golden rose.

awesome.

That's all (for now) folks! :)

Walk Like an Egyptian

I spent a huge chunk of this long weekend swatching a bunch of Meow collections and finally got around to the Egyptian Treasures.  They came out almost 3 years ago and Scarab was the first full size jar of Meow that I've bought.  I don't know why I'm telling you this because I didn't use it in this look.  I JUST FEEL LIKE TALKIN' OKAY?!

Calm yourself crazy lady.

So now that I know what all the colours look like when they're not in baggies and jars (because they look almost identical that way!)  I decided to do a kind of ancient Egyptian makeup look.  Ever since I was little I was always in awe of the Egyptian makeup looks, the straight double liner, lots of black. So pretty.  My look kind of sucks.  I'm not that creative, my answer is usually just add funky eyeliner and voila!
One day I'd like to try to re-create the makeup done on Anck-Su-Namun from the Mummy.  She wasn't really in that movie much but the character stuck with me even then because HELLO KICK ASS MAKEUP!
It's hard to find a good closeup though, I may just have to pop the movie in and play-pause until I get a good screen cap.

So enough rambling, here's what I ended up with.

UDPP
Lid inner 2/3: Bast
Lid outer 1/3 Royal
Crease /lower liner: Artifact
Inner corner/Outter part of eye: Pharoah
Browbone: Prophecy
UD 24/7 liquid liner

Meh.  Should have brought that first line out higher to eyebrow level at least.  Oh well, I was just playing around anyways :)
That last eye looks like I'm going, "duhhhhhhhh"

Meow Cosmetics Guilty Pleasures Swatches

In Meow's "Pleasures" collection there are Simple Pleasures and Guilty Pleasures.  I already swatched the Simple ones but didn't get around to these ones.  Probably got distracted by a flying bird or something.
I swear it winked at me.

2 shades didn't want to play nice with me.  I had to do Fried Chicken twice because it tried to do a funky separation thing.  And I already can't remember what the other one was.  I think it was one of the ones I re-did on Pixie Epoxy at the end of this post.

Annnnnywhosies here are the Guilty Pleasures:

E-shopping, Sick Days jacked up on PIXIE EPOXY!!!

I think it was E-shopping that was acting up.  It wasn't playing nice on the PE either :(  A wet brush would probably make it kick ass though.
