Kat Von D Ladybird EOTD

I just went back home for a week and usually 1 tax means BUY ALL TEH THINGS!!!
But amazingly all the makeup I bought was the newest Kat Von D palette, Ladybird.  I've never bought any of the palettes before even though Memento Mori tempted me hardcore, but I walked away. And then it was gone and I was all NOOOOOOOOOOOOOoOOooooooo.

I bought this one though because of all the pretty mattes and the red shade Cleopatra.  There is only one good shot of the look I did because my lighting was balls and I had my mom's lens on my camera which made the beast weigh more than usual for my cruddy always sore wrist I never bothered to get looked at.  Awkward shot is awkward. 

I used TFSI Lemon Drop to prime and the palette in the following order:

1. I put Harlow on the lid *edit - that didn't look right, I think I used the one to the left of 1 "Unrequited". Meh, doesn't matter because step 5... :D
2. Fur Elise went in the crease
3. Cleopatra was blended into and above Fur Elise
4. Wolf was patted in the outer corner and crease to darken a bit more
5. Vespertine was patted all over the lid on top of Harlow (or Unrequited...), I wanted a better contrast. It was also used on the browbone.
Upper eyeliner was Immortal Love, it came with the set, it's also smeared below, waterline is UD Honey and lower inner liner is UD Midnight Cowboy.

 X-rated does not like to be foiled.  It's the pretty blue on the bottom left of the whole collection pictures. Foiled it turns into a dark greenish shade.

The closeup I took of Caged didn't turn out but I'm pretty happy with the rest of them!    I was giggling to myself when I was naming the pictures.  Most of the time I just call the closeup pictures "name closeup".
 "Intimate closeup" and "X-rated closeup" are probably going to bring some questionable blog hits....  :D

Neutral Fyrinnae EOTD

Even though I have an embarassing amount of makeup, I haven't been doing a very good job of wearing it.  Most days my makeup is just: concealer, foundation, fnishing powder, eyeliner, mascara, blush.  Which still sounds like a lot but when you have literally hundreds of eyeshadows and don't wear any, ya kiiiinda start to feel bad.

I went out to dinner last night and actually had some time to play with eyeshadow so I used some of the new Fyrinnae shades I picked up.

Lid main: Velveteen Werewolf (HOLY BALLS I wish I grabbed a F/S of this one instead of a mini)
Crease: Automatic Toaster
Browbone: just some shimmery shade from a company looong gone
Liner: Urban Decay 24/7 liquid liner in Perversion
Waterline: UD Honey eyeliner (managed to track it down on ebay!)
Lips were Shiro's This is Halloween

 And my whole stupid head.

 

And FINALLY my foundation matches better.  I was wearing MAC NC25 but it wasn't quite right and as the day went on it would do this stupid separating thing. It didn't matter if I used a setting powder or spray, it still separated.  And because it didn't match my colouring just right it was really obvious close up. 

But I got matched to Makeup Forever N120 and so far so good.  I've been using it for a week and it matches better in colour and it doesn't separate.  I do wish it had a bit better coverage though.  You can kind of see the old acne marks in the photo above and that's with using concealer also.

Oh well, at least my face looks human :)

Mismatched Nails

Over the last few months I've gotten a little obsessed with Korean beauty products and one of these products were the Etude House Etoinette Versailles Rose/Versailles Dress (now discontinued) nail polish sets.

They were a set of 3 nail polishes that go well together along with some matching water decals to mix and match a manicure.  I did manage to hunt down the 2 sets but the bottles are little and I'm a dope and don't want to waste them so what I did was go through my nail polishes to see if I could come up with my own mismatched nails combinations!

They were nowhere near as cute as the Versailles Rose set but here's what I did:

The first set had:
Thumb: Etude House Mint Chocolate with Daily Lacquer Helios on top
Index: Etude House Strawberry Stars Candy
Middle: China Glaze Aquadelic with Etude House PPK005 Cocktail Dress on top
Ring: Etude House Mint Chocolate
Pinky: some ancient-ass Avon pink I've had for 10 years with Daily Lacquer Helios on top

And I got a bunch of new shades in the mail to play with and instead of deciding which to wear, I wore 'em all for another mismatched manicure :)

This set included mostly A England polishes:
Thumb: Beauty Never Fails with Holy Grail (original) dotted on top
Index: I botched this one up but it was Holy Grail (original) with Opi Black Spotted, but I didn't thin it out enough so it didn't separate as good as I wanted it, so I just went over with another coat of Holy Grail and pretended I meant to do that...for texture...sure...
Middle: Beauty Never Fails with She Walks in Beauty on top the bottom half (kinda botched that one too)
Ring: She Walks in Beauty
Pinky: Holy Grail (updated) with a stripe of Beauty Never Fails.

Fuck that accent nail noise, ACCENT ALL DA NAILS!! :D

So I got bored already of the nails I painted yesterday and went over them with Rainbow Honey's 20% Cooler.

Models Own Hayley's Comet Swatch

Just 1 picture on my stubby nails.  Seche Vite destroyed them so I had to cut them all short. >:(
This is Hayley's Comet from the Models Own Beetlejuice collection. 
Head on it's a brownish red with a green/blueish shine.  Towards the light the green turns pink.
A few places bubbled up but I don't know if that's the polish of if I'm painting them wrong. I didn't use a base or top coat so I don't know if that would have helped or made it worse.
Meh!
Cool colour anyways.  It reminds me of all my favourite eyeshadows that look like this, like Aromaleigh's Cookie Party, Mac Club, the one shade in Wet n Wilds Night Elf palette, all those sweet red-ish brown shades with the greeny-blue flash.  LOVE
I believe I bought this from Ninja Polish.

Shades of Meow Volume 1 Swatches

NEAT IDEA ALERT!

Meow Cosmetics came up with a pretty cool limited edition release idea.  10 shades will be released every 60 days and the previous collection will become unavailable.  This will happen 5 times (50 Shades of Meow) and then after the 60 days are up for the last group, all 50 will be available for 60 days and the 10 best sellers will become permanent for Valentines 2014.
I hope I explained that right.
And the reason for the names?  Well I just assume everyone knows what these names are based on but just incase you live under a rock, it's based on the 50 Shades of Grey series.  Since I realized the story was originally a Twilight fanfic all I see is Mopey Stewart and Sparkle Boy whenever I think of the book, I'm just gonna pretend these are based on the other super smutty BDSM themed books instead :D
