Storm Cloud Rainbow

Hullo!

One look I can never pull off is a black smokey eye.  I just look like I got hit in the face and black is uber hard to work with when you don't know what the crap you're doing.  Like me!

Well Mandy from Pretty Making always does these fantastic smokey eyes so I pulled out my traincase to practise a little bit.  I think part of my problem is not using enough shades, plus the tricky part of knowing where on the lid all the black goes.  I did mine slightly wrong. I went too high up for the inner half of my lid, so head on it looks like my outer lid droops and looks SO DUMB.  I'd show you but it's too sad to look at and once on internetland, ALWAYS ON INTERNETLAND.

So we'll pretend all is well.

Straight up flat black is booooring so I decided to get some inspiration from another wicked blogger, Ronnie from Bows & Curtseys, and her Radiant Rainbow liner look. BUT WITH GLITTAH!
Because who the hell doesn't love glitter?

Grumpy people and bosses, that's who.

I just used some primer, Sugarpill's Bulletproof, Burberry Trench for my browbone, and some random dark brown in the Coastal Scents Warm palette to blend Bulletproof into Trench.  Glitter was a mix of discontinued Aromaleigh and Lime Crime stuff I bought ages ago, pressed on top of Urban Decay Zero.  I was going to attempt Pixie Epoxy for the glue-action but it's so hard to see when it's clear on top of black!

BAH You can see where I went too thick on the Zero and then kind of botched the green/blue/purple glitter part.  :( 9:30pm dark living room lighting is sucky.

Oh well, it was just random makeup playtime before bed.

Which is where I'm heading.
NIGHT!

  4. I actually like the shape of your eyeshadow, it's kind of 1920's-y.

  5. Damn girl, this is gorgeous. The colors look extra sparkly next to the black, like firecrackers in the night sky.
