Messy Random Nail Swatches - CG Hunger Games

I ordered the whole China Glaze Hunger Games collection from Sally's only to find out the day they shipped, that half weren't coming. I sent them an email because I was upset and the only reason I ordered them from there instead of walking my butt to the store was because this seemed like a sure thing.

They very kindly refunded me the crazy high shipping and taxes so I can't bitch too much I guess :)

The rest I bought on eBay. More like YAYbay.

These were not meant to be swatches, I was just dickin around but LOOK HOW PRETTY THEY ARE!

I had to share!!

Top: Agro
Middle: Mahogany Magic
Bottom: Foie Gras

Hopefully I can get proper swatches of these done. This week was crap on my hands and I broke my middle nails :(
Somehow I even managed to cut myself at work with 20 minutes left to go in the shift. If there's a way to hurt myself at work, I'M ON IT DUDE!

Time to go look for some $10 pants. I bought nail polish instead of clothing and I'm down to one pair of work pants :/ This is not good. That means I own 3 pairs of pants total now. They need to be cheap because I'll probably just snag them on the conveyor anyways. And get oil on them from the dirty skids.

I miss my office job.
And nice nails.
And sitting on mah butt.
And really nice paycheques where I didn't have to decide between nail polish or clothing.
I hate clothes shopping.
growl.
Whine done.

Nerd Lacquer ~ It's Just a Flesh Wound Swatch

First off, I don't know how nail bloggers do it. GET SUPREMELY PERFECT PICTURES!

I took about 100 in total in light, out of light, holding stuff, up against a wall and holy hell that was a process. My other freakin hand was hurting trying to hold the camera for that long.

Hopefully these pictures aren't too horrible but I know they could be better somehow. I just have to find that trick!

The first bottle of nail polish I decided to swatch from my Nerd Lacquer group is: It's Just a Flesh Wound. Swatches of Nerd Lacquer will look slightly different with every blogger because each bottle is in a way unique being hand blended and everyone has their technique to get the glitter out. My first coat I wasn't worried about the huge hex glitters because I was going to do two more coats but the last coat I tried to make sure I had a huge piece on the brush each time.

This shade is described as: a fierce black base with small and medium black, red, and copper hexagonal glitter, plus black and charcoal microglitter and big silver hex glitter.

Next 3 pics are 3 coats, no top coat (I didn't have any!)

Then I made a trip to the drugstore for some top coaty goodness.
This is 4 coats with 2 coats clear top coat. The 4th coat was me trying to dig out more big glitter bits :)

That one has 3 coats clear. Just trying to get more detail.

It'll probably take me a week to get all the polish off but so.worth.it

Nerd Lacquer Bottle pic spam

The plan was to glue some nails on and swatch these, but I got sidetracked by pretty bottles and daylight and HAD TO TAKE CLOSEUPS! Actually the plan was to clean my apartment and do laundry but who choses that over pictures of shiny stuff?? WHO!? YOU TELL ME!?

So here are just a bunch of pictures of my Nerd Lacquer nail polishes. A few I should have gotten sharper, more focused pictures but my battery light was blinking so I had to do these fast.

Yeah I could have waited for a new charge but the day light would have changed (like right now it's gloomy out again) and I wanted these all done the same.

And before the pics I have to say YAY 480 FOLLOWERS!! I gained like 6 in less than a week and I didn't even do anything cool like juggle 3 kittens wearing hula skirts.

heh cat's don't wear skirts...

So thanks for following along with my ramblings! :) I'm slowly building up a giveaway prize for 500 that so far consists of stuff I accidently bought twice or decided I don't need anymore (all brand new). So if ya want my shopping screw ups, tell ya fwends :D

Meow Cosmetics End of Days Swatches

I ordered sampled of these as soon as they were available so they've been sitting on my ottoman staring me in the eye but I was too lazy to swatch them.

UNTIL NOW

BOM BOM BOMMMMMMM

Meow's End of Days collection is a limited edition set that Meow says "...this dramatic color collection will be gone forever on 12 21 2012, whether we all still exist, or not."

So you have a few months to decide what you want, which is good because you're gonna want a bunch of these babies.

Revlon Whimsical

Revlon's Whimsical is the less expensive dupe of Deborah Lippmann's Glitter in The Air

I saw the Deborah Lippmann one in Murale but there were no price tags so I passed on it. Then internetland started showing off this super cute shade by Revlon and I had to have it!

It's a bit of a disappointing colour because of it's sheerness but it would layer pretty over pastels. Whimsical has pink and blue disc glitter with holo glitter and irridescent smaller sparkles in a sheer milky blue base.

I swatched it over Sally Hansen's Inta-Dri Whirlwind White and as you can see from my picture, the white is still pretty prevalent even with 3 coats layered on top.

It reminds me of candy. I LIKES IT! The hardest part of this nail polish is telling yourself you kind of have no control over the glitter and let them lay as they will, sparse or not. The first coat gave my pinkie 3, but more coats = more glitter, so keep packing that stuff on :)

And excuse my poor mangled looking cuticles and ragged ass nails. I work in a warehouse and it's not friendly on my hands even with the amount of hand cream I use :(

Meow Holiday Xmas Trees

I took these swatches before I went on holidays but forgot to upload them :s

Bad me.

Better late than never!

These lovely greens are from Meow Cosmetics Xmas Trees collection. I tried linking the collection itself but Blogger is being a huge turd right now and links aren't working right.

FIX THIS BLOGGER!

U MAKE ME ANGERED!

Hopefully pictures still work!

Meow Crop Circle & Abductee 2011

Itty bitty swatch post.

BUT FIRST! If you haven't done so yet, check out the Hunger Games trailer!!!!

HOLY.CRAP. I can't wait until March dammit!

Back to makeup...

This year Meow added "Crop Circle" and a new "Abductee" shade to their Alien Abduction Halloween line.

I'm a total dork and when I saw the email saying sale I grabbed everything I wanted in jar form (yay for already swatching!) and skipped the part in the email mentioning the 2 new/kind of hidden shades. Luckily I was able to add them to my order and I'm so glad I did!

Crop Circle reminds me very much of Urban Decay's Baked shade which is my favourite UD shade EVARRR. I swatched them side by side and Crop Circle is a bit darker and just as pretty. <3 it!

Abductee 2011 is a really pretty taupe shade and it photographs like effing MAGIC! To my eyeballs in this dark livingroom light I didn't see the shimmer this intense, but the flash on my camera popped it out. I didn't even have to blur the picture to make it visible, but I included a blurry pic anyways. Just cuz :)
I think this shade photographs better than any other shade I own. How can you see this and NOT WANT IT? You don't want it? CRAZY PERSON.
Oh that's just me :)

Abductee 2011 is very different than last year's Abductee. Abductee 2010 was a dark purple shimmer with silver sparks.

PICTURE TIME!

Abductee 2011. So can I snort it?

The jar!

Since Halloween is over, you'll be SOL getting these dudes for awhile. Last years' Abductee didn't make a comeback, so this years may not show up next year. So I guess this post sort of turned into a Pink Sith "Taupes you can't have" kind of post :D

Persephone All Hallow's Eve

I know I know, It's the middle of freakin November and I'm just swatching a Halloween collection now.

That's how I roll.

The collection is Persephone Minerals All Hallow's Eve and it contains 6 shades:

Pumpkin Head, Dead Ringer, Graveside Manner
Spirit Realm, Devil Doll, Cemetery Dirt

I believe Spirit Realm is now permanent.

Dead Ringer has pink sparkles that didn't show up on camera and Graveside Manner has green sparkles also refusing to show up on camera. If I could chose favourites, Dead Ringer, Graveside Manner, Pumpkin Head and Spirit Realm win kitteh approval.

Annabelle Cosmetics Day Dream Spring 2011

I found a wicked bright surprise in my drugstore today. Annabelle released their Day Dream Spring collection. In it was 4 eyeshadows, 2 lipglosses and I saw 2 glitter liners and there were a couple of other things but I got sidetracked swatching the testers in the display!

First impression? I am in LUURRRVVEEE DUDE!

These are BRIGHT! And MATTE! And awesomely PIGMENTED! And just $4.99 ea! I have other Annabelle mono's but these 4 are my favs so far, they seem more pigmented than last year's spring collection (there was a pink, teal, cream and can't remember the 4th)

The little pans are the exact size as MAC pro pan refills. You can put these in a MAC palette but you will need to buy a strip of magnet to cut and stick to the back of the pans. Annabelle has a empty quad they sell and the palette is magnetised so no extra work is needed there. I only had 3 spaces left in my MAC palette so these new bad boys got to find a home in the empty Annabelle quad I bought on sale last year, so it now feels less lonely being filled :D

The shades I picked up are: Reverie (bright blue), Airhead (purple), Dayglow (bright acid yellow), Dollywood (pretty pink)

Ohhhh pretty blue I love youuuu
