Butterfly Kisses in the Purple Rain

Hi!

Last night when I picked out my eyeshadow I was going to go with Matte whitish, matte pink and the green of AL's Glowing Luna.
But I changed my mind :)

I still used Aromaleigh but went allll purple with a bit of green.

The stuff:



I used:
Lid: Butterfly Kisses
Crease: Ephemeral Violet
Darken the crease: Purplerain
Browbone, inner corner: Sylph
Liner: MAC Undercurrent





The left eye turned out nicer, damn my scarred brow!!!


And I got a brand new camera because the other one was soooo slow and it's crap at taking far away shots. But this new thing is crap at taking closeups (so far, I'm not really a camera pro, so I have to play with it to find out what I'm screwing up)

It's a Canon Elph 1400 and it's so nifters! There's a setting to do a "fishbowl" effect and "miniature" effect and this neato thing where I can focus on a colour and it will turn everything else B&W!

So just for fun I saw this icon that was for "Portrait - Get the best out of people shots"

From what I can see, it seems to blur the skin. Here be mah face shot for today using the portrait setting. No photoshopping, just cropping to get my head.



I have two more EOTD's to post but I have to do my girlfriendy duties and clean house right now :( It's only fair. The dude did the laundry yesterday and almost every time before that so I guess I could get off my butt :)

Suds N Sass blues

Hi!
My mister went in to work today so that meant I could spend allll the time I wanted on my makeup, he wasn't there to rush me :)

I had no actual plan in mind, I just knew I wanted to play with some more Suds N Sass shades. And Piercing Parlor was grey/silver so that was to be the main colour, with my new greys obsession and all :D

The stuff!



I used:
Lid: Piercing Parlor
Crease: Poolside
Slightly above crease and inner corners: Surfs Up
Liner: UD Zero with Tattoo shop patted on top. This shade is super sparkly and is best to treat it like a glitter and use it on top a sticky base.
cheeks: Raspberry Snow Cone
Lips: Avon Classic Nude gloss

It ended up looking more blue in the end but that's okay :)

While I was still sick in the head I saw a super duper look over at Clever Endeavor and I wanted to copycat it. I didn't get time until yesterday with the whole vacationy stuff, makeup melting off in extreme temps/new makeups to try ooot.

Also, the camera was being a lamewad and only 1 pic didn't turn out blurry. Imma go shove this bitch in the microwave now.

Also on a side note, I can see the makeup police are trying to pick out what blogs they deem worthy of their viewing pleasure. And that by getting products sent for review, they'll get less than honest results. Seriously?

For one, I blog because I love colours and it's a great way to keep track of the looks I've done and what makeup I've used. Views and comments are a welcome bonus but I won't go cry in a corner without them. At the end of the day, it's for MEH. Selfish? Totally, but it's my blog and it's like a big ol journal with pics and if someone doesn't like what I say in it, oh well, you can't tell me what I can or can't write about and how I write about it. If I wanted to start writing about laying cement, I will. But I won't because I think that's so fucking boring. :)

2, they make it sound like because of the blog we'll just get tossed freebies and walk away.
Yes I was sent the AL Lost in Faerie collection. I also bought the entire collection with my own money. Same with Victoria's Revenge, I think I ended up with 12 f/s from there. If I see a colour I like, I'll buy it. If I didn't love it, I wouldn't buy it DUHHH. When Suds N Sass allows orders to go through, I'll buy my favs and some perfume there also. So the moral of the story is, I really gotta stop lurking at that shit for a site and keep doing my own thing. If I wanted cheap chuckles I should have just gone here instead...

Aromaleigh Lost In Faerie

Hullo!

When I got back from holidays I had a lil package waiting for me. Inside, AROMALEIGH'S LOST IN FAERIE SAMPLES!!

W000ty w00t!

This collection along with Victoria's Revenge totally made me think of Sugar and Spice. VR being Spice and LIF being sweet sweet Sugar baby!

They are soft colours with teensy sparks and would be good if someone wanted more colour in their life but not BAM IN YOUR FACE!

The really odd part is my favourite shade of the collection is Elette. It's a really pretty grey shade.

That's right, not a gold or bright yellow but grey! I never thought I'd say I love a grey but I kinda wish I bought 2.

So I can thank Aromaleigh for making me love a neutral :)

I was going to swatch but I got a new camera and they weren't focusing enough but I used the camera to snap pics of the EOTD's I've been making this week.

First up, my fav combo this week using:

Lid: Elette (uber pretty grey)
Crease: Donella (light brown)
Darken the crease a bit: Zanna (dark brown)
Browbone: Oyster (Carolina Mattes)

Outter lid and crease: Alina (darker pink, I rock at descriptions!)

Crease: Trixy (dark teal blue)
Browbone: Terpischore (If everone had one of these in their makeup bag, the world would be a better place...)
Lower lash line: Meliora (pale blue)





It's not 100% my favourite look (seems a bit washed out with no liner) but I could have fixed it with some liner. Dang time restrictions! Lorelei is an awesome colour. I bought one sans sample bag, I just knew it was in the yellow gold family so I'll automatically think it's awesome possum.

I'll keep playing around. I bought the whole collection so I don't have to be ascurred of wasting the baggies now! I'm looking at them as I type, just came in today. They say "HAI!" :)

And got my shop on again. London Drugs here is discontinuing all their Annabelle products for some reason (Wal-mart and Shoppers Drug Mart still carries it) so I grabbed a frikkin truckload to swatch fer ya.
For those who don't know, Annabelle is Canuckian and only sold here methinks.

It looked to be all half price so I grabbed some extra's for a future giveaway. (As soon as Fyrinnae lets me hit "paypal please!" I should be set)

I'm kinda bummed Green Tease doesn't really play nice with me. I should learn my lesson, gold is great as a shadow, crap as a drug store liner. I had a gold liner when I was 16, same thing happened, not enough payoff to look awesome.
