Even on Xmas Eve Eve, my crazy ass can't pass up deals pour moi!

My skin sucks ass so I wanted to try the "Perfect Skin" vitamins from the drug store. I bought the 120 bottle because my mom got a small discount, it was like buying the smaller bottle and getting twice as much. I bought 2 because I live 2 provinces over and didn't want to pay an extra 7% on $90 worth of effing vitamins! (and couldn't get my "mommy" discount either)
I want to try these (have to remember to take 2, 2x a day with food) and see if they help clear my skin. On my full face pictures you can probably see the zit bumps that I've tried to hide under makeup. I know makeup doesn't help it, but I'd rather not have big ol red bumps showing to the world.

I will also be using Lush's Coalface soap. I've used it before and it worked wonders. My problem is remembering to use it twice a day (I'm bad at remembering to wash my face at night. I know that is a huge no no.)

AND! I will be combining those 2 with Lush's Dark Angels scrub. I haven't used this scrub before then. I tried Herbalism but it felt greasy on me somehow. Dark Angels is odd. I liked that it looked like a scrubbier version of Coalface. It didn't smell as good though. It's made of charcoal like coalface but this one has a weird after-smell, like someone breathing in your face with bad ketosis breath.
weird.

I will be swapping my Olay spf lotion with the Body Shop's Seaweed Mattifying Moisture Lotion SPF 15. Last year when I looked for this I couldn't find it with both SPF AND Mattifier. Today I got VERY lucky. Everything in the store with the exception on gift sets was 3/$30. EVERYTHING! I could have mixed and matched but these babies are $18 apiece so screw trying other things I want THIS! And saved $24 until next year's super awesome sale. They are 50ml bottles so quite pricey for $18. But feasible for $10!

Hopefully this fixes my shart skin.

Also since I've been on holidays I grabbed 3 super cool Bourgois eyeliners (Including my FAVOURITE that I thought was disc, METALISSE BLEU CINQUANT! Now I can wear is as much as I want knowing where the hell to get it.)

I grabbed some more Konad image plates. Not sure my grand total so far. I grabbed M69, 70, 71, 73 and 74. They were buy 4 get one free. Can't say no to that not can we!?!1

AND The last thing I bought so far is a crappy Luna Twilight Rosalie Palette.
EOTD to follow.....

Meow Merry Mayhem

Today I wanted to try the same method as I did in my Barbie Loves Aromaleigh look last week, and I wanted to wear yellow today so I decided on Meow Cosmetics' Merry Mayhem collection.
Today was also the last day to use the discount coupons to order the holiday collections. I had 30 in my cart and decided to swatch just to make sure.....Mistake, ended up with 14 more instead . Whooooopsie.

I think I'm done buying makeup for a bit (unless I crack, and order some Fyrinnae-y goodness... Still don't have any lip lustres!)

Also I went to shoppers drug mart to see my mom and the cosmeticians there kept complimenting my makeup before they even knew my momma worked there :D

All in all I don't think I did too shabby, so it gets lots of pics! And my kitteh luffs the hugs. Not really...

I used:
lid: Star
Crease: Snowangel
Upper crease: (12 pains) Party Crashers
Hilight: Nice

Blush: Avon Star Glo

Lips: Annabelle Iced Ginger

Kinda spaced out looking....

SYDNEY LYKS DA INVASHUN, she jus doesn't knowz it yet!

My crappy attempt at an orange helmet. Syd is pleased.

Barbie Loves Aromaleigh, my Barbie Loves Mac look using Aromaleigh

Ever since I saw Panacea81's youtube video on her Barbie Loves Mac look, it's been my favourite colour combo look. I didn't own any of the colours at the time (now have springtime skipper and playful, good ol ebay) I didn't even know a collection existed but it looked fun to do.

This is mac's look

I decided to do my version of the Barbie Loves Mac look using Aromaleigh.

I was going to attempt the look using a different company every day but in a day and a half I'll be going home for Christmas and will be too busy to keep my mind going straight.

Today I used:
Lid: Cricket with Le Mystere 106 on top to tone the lime down (106 on me tends to turn a bit muddy looking by itself) Mac uses Springtime Skipper
Crease: Pure Hues (disc) Tarnish and Pewter mixed together. Mac uses Mothbrown I believe. Not a clue what that is so browny grey seemed to be the colour that came to mind.
Just above crease: Flying Flower. It was tricky to blend my dark line with Flying Flower, that TFSS makes everything stick a little TOO good!
Hilight: Pixie Cup. Mac uses Whistle I think
Below eyes: Cricket with Le Mystere 106 again
Eyeliner: Urban Decay Zero. I need a pencil sharpener asap. This thing was so dull. I carefully drew the line and had to use a slanted eyeliner brush to wing it out, therefore dulling it into a DIVET!
Mascara: Rimmel Glam eyes

Cheeks: Aromaleigh Dolly

Lips: Aromaleigh Headoverheels

Ignore the very "unbarbie hair". Had to go to work. Can't have flowy voluminous hair getting caught in conveyor belt. And the red clashes with the pink anyways :P

I was thinking of using falsies as well but I am not good enough to throw them on quick and then realized it would cover the damn eyeliner I worked so hard to get right!

I hope you like it :)

The start of madness!

This may bore you. You can skip to the EOTD if ya want :)

This is the story of how I can to be the makeup junkie I am today.

A couple of years ago the only coloured eyeshadow I owned was a L'Oreal quad (Enchanted Bouquet, before they changed the formula and added crappy filler filled crappy to see pinks and browns. I'll take a picture one day!) and an Allmay Brown eyes trio and a bunch of random eyeliners (they were the easiest to add a bit of colour to the eyes) Why this boring story?
That's just it! BORING. I knew there was other stuff out there but I was too big a chicken to wear any of it.

One day I was googling these cute barbie purses I saw in the newspaper. I didn't find any info but I saw a youtube video by Lauren Luke AKA Panacea81. She did such a cute "Barbie Loves Mac" look with pinks and greens. I loved the combo and watched so many more of her videos (also loved her paramore inspired look) and decided, I wanted to wear something different too. I was too late to see any of the MAC collection when it came out, I wasn't in to makeup at that time.

I saw, watching other videos, that people were using NYX a lot (especially that Milk Jumbo eye pencil) so I took a trip to a Rexall and grabbed a trio (the one with the mac paradisco dupe tropical, green and a yellow), some eyeliners and a single (Kiwi). That's where the nuttiness began! NYX had so many colours! The only downside, the Rexall only carried a select few items and a lot of it was opened (they didn't have testers so people put their grubby fingers all over it.)

From there I bought a few MAC shadows and was more daring with the bright, unusual retail store colours until this summer.

I found indie makeup companies! Every colour of the rainbow is available and the best part? You can sample most of everything! The first company I tried was Fyrinnae. They were the guys that introduced me to the world of online makeup! If my experience was bad I might have been turned off from the start but they showed me that they were very caring of their customers and they just generally seemed to want to make the customer happy (unlike that cold feeing you can get walking into a Sephora). From Fyrinnae I saw Aromaleigh, then Meow cosmetics, then Lime Crime (please note, I will never buy anything more from them ever. This is my opinion and I can JUST SAY NO, if I want to. Also shows you NEED to research before purchasing) then Beauty from the earth, The she space, and Stardust cosmetics. There are many more, but these are just the companies I've tried so far.

I like that for $1-$2 you can get an eyeshadow that will last a long time without having to pay $17 for one mac shadow that you may never use all the way up.

I'll mostly just buy eyeshadows and a blush every now and then. I have a ton of lip glosses but I don't wear them very much (always have a pen in my mouth, it'll come right off) and it has to be an odd colour for me to want it lately.

It's kind of weird that if I wasn't looking for that stupid little barbie purse I may never have had the hobby I have now...

There. I documented it for when the dudes in white jackets and clipboards come to take me away to that soft padded room :)

Time to post my eotd!

The Archetype has arrived...

...4.5 months later.

I wasn't expecting a package at all so it was a very nice surprise to get it, a stardust package and a meow package all at once!

Check out the dates... Half a baby was made in the world somewhere at the rate it took to arrive...

I just went through my sample baggy binder to take out the ones that I bought full sizes of but that didn't clear much room at all. Must.get.more.hockey.card.dividers!

I was going to do a Meow look today but the Archetype ones jumped out at me first. I hate to say it, but some of these colours are worth waiting for. That's the only time I'll say it!

With my red hair, I wanted to do a neat greenish blue look but it came out more blue.

I used:
Daybreak Aeval inner 3rd of lid
Twilight Aeval middle of lid
Midnight Aeval outer 3rd, crease (all 3 of these remind me of L J Smith's Night world books, Circle daybreak, circle twilight, circle midnight... yeah I'm lame)
Verre De Soie hilight
Limp to line lower lashline

And this is what I ended up with (much more blue than I wanted, maybe should have skipped Twilight and just used Daybreak)

Still not sure if I'd be willing to wait another 4.5 months for a second order. Some very cool colours but 4.5 months? Seriously? It took a month to charge my card, and 4 more to ship it. 2 more weeks to get it (okay that one doesn't count, post office fault.) Do orders of full sized products get shipped out first and we get shoved to the back of the line?
Bah.

Christmas Party Makeupz!

I wasn't very sure what I wanted for my Christmas part look and then I remembered my Aromaleigh Holiday Blast collection! I didn't have as much time as I would have liked because I remembered I forgot to dye my hair! So I did that first. Feria R68 Rich auburn True red Ruby Rush (seriously, how many different ways do they have to say "red"? They should name them like eyeshadows, "Today I shall dye my hair Bumblebee, Unicorn has faded and I'm still trying to cover up Zelda's Revenge")

Awesome :)

I used:
Eyes!
Too faced shadow insurance yo
Aromaleigh holiday blast Regifted (lid) Champagne Toast (Hilight)
Stardust Cosmetics Equinox (crease) Cashmere Mittens (on top of Champagne Toast for less pinky colour)
Meow Cosmetics Coffin (tried to wetline the eyeliner, I pretty much blow at it)
False Quo eyelashes that I bought at Halloween time. I think these are my fav so far
Urban Decay eyeliner Zero, to try to get rid of the "blank" bits from where the lashes separated.

Face!
Korres face primer (sample from Sephora, not liking it much but I ran out of Fyrinnae's silica gel primer)
Rimmel 103 True Ivory (whoda thunk a half native would wear a shade with the word "Ivory" in it??)
Aromaleigh Coquille powder in Apricot under eyes
Physicians Formula translucent medium powder to set meh face
Mac Hello Kitty blush in Fun & Games
Physicians Formula Pearls of Perfection to add more sparkly and blend blush smoothly
Clare's baked "Bronzer" (not bronzer I swears it! lots of yellow gold instead of brown) on top of blush for extra shimmer niceness

LIPS!
Avon Mark hook up gloss in Girly Girl

Lots o pictures! I was pretty happy with how it all turned out. Ignore the uglyass bathrobe and see a tree! :D
Necklace is my super duper Betsey Johnson necklace I bought at a boxing day sale from Holt Renfrew last year. I think it was on sale because CHARMS WERE MISSING! Dammit. Didn't even know until I got home, googled it to try to find the matching bracelet and saw in pictures that mine was missing stuff. Oh well. Good thing about a charm necklace, you can't tell!

Except now.
Cuz I told you
Geeze.

:)

And now, final product!

Ugly ass bathrobe, PRETTY XMAS TREE!

Now I wish I had a second party to go to so I can do it all over again :D

I FOUND A GEM!!

WOOOOHOOOO!!!

I got my Aromaleigh package and I was thinking to myself it had to be one of the least pricey ones I've made from there in awhile. I opened the little ziplock and was kinda bummed that I ordered a second Fabclub still (my last order I ordered it and forgot.) It's a really pretty pink but at the rate I go through eyeshadows, these will now last me until I'm maybe 136 give or take 10 years.
And to top it off I heard rattling and thought "oh great, the sifter is broken" and I carefully opened it up and, BAMMO! Little pink sparkly prettiness was waiting for me!

I couldn't remember what $ amount that meant so I automatically thought "Saweeeeet, free shipping! $10!" But nope! It's $25!
SPRING SOLSTICE I WILL HAVE YOU! Well, most of you eventually but this will definitely help my broke buns.

Here is the Aromaleigh info>>> http://blog.aromaleigh.com/blog/2009/11/aromaleigh-goes-willy-wonka-find-your-golden-ticket-and-win-win-win.html

And my gem!!!
